Annette Marie Lindeman

Annette Marie Lindeman (Icenogle), 77, of Terre Haute, IN passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15  at Ascension Saint Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.  She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Icenogle, grandson, Austin Shanks, and a stepsister, Trixie Brill.  Annette is survived by her beloved spouse, Mark Pies and daughter Charity Shanks (Tim) of Terre Haute, four stepsons, Gregory Pies (Tara) of Holywood, Northern Ireland, Clint Pies (Molly) of Hartland, WI, Zachary Pies (Autumn) of Terre Haute, and Daniel Pies (Sarah) of Plainfield, 11 grandchildren, three stepsisters and one stepbrother.    

Annette was born July 5, 1946 in Linton, IN.  As a child, she moved to Hartford, Michigan where she was raised by her father and great grandmother, Elizabeth Peacock, later graduating from Hartford High School.  She returned to Indiana as a young adult and began a long career with General Telephone, where she served in a variety of roles over the next 30 years, before retiring in 1998.  Following, Annette enjoyed ten years of service with the Vigo County Court House before fully retiring in 2011. 

Always thoughtful, patient and kind, Annette enjoyed time with family above all, especially traveling with Mark.  The two shared many adventures, including long road trips to the Western United States, visiting family, national parks and exploring the southwest.  Annette loved working outside, cultivating a large vegetable garden, and preparing and sharing meals with friends and family.  Annette’s love of family extended to faithful pets; notably Max, Rowdy and Cinder.  And of course, Annette enjoyed collecting jewelry, frequently sharing rings, bracelets and necklaces with family and friends when she received compliments. 

Words in a simple memorial fall short of our feelings and the depth of our love.  We find comfort and love in family and shared memories.

Visitation and memorial services will be held at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804 on Thursday, March 21 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
