Donald Meneely Obituary

Donald Ray Meneely, 91, of Terre Haute, IN, passed away on April 10, 2024. He was born on December 1, 1932, in Burnett, Indiana to Thomas and Mary (Gibson) Meneely. Donald was a proud Air Force veteran, serving from 1951 to 1955.

While in the Air Force, Don spent a year oversees in Thule, Greenland. After his military service, Donald pursued a career as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Pfizer, retiring in 1988. He graduated from Fontanet High School in 1950 and later earned a Chemistry degree from Indiana State University in 1960.

On June 16, 1951, Don married the love of his life, Patricia Joan Streacker. 

Donald was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Terre Haute. In his free time, he enjoyed playing basketball, golfing, and reading. Don played basketball for Fontanet Beantowners and the US Air Force. He was an avid reader.  Don spent much time with family and friends. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Jack and Tom), grandson (Nicholas) and lifelong friend ‘Fuzz’.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Patricia (Streacker) Meneely; sons -Don (Machel) Meneely of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Nick (Cindy) Meneely; daughter - Susan (Ed) Tewell of Thorntown, IN; grandchildren - Ryan Meneely, Daniel (Melissa) Meneely, Sarah (Enrique) Matute, Stephen Meneely, Maria Mullins, Jason (Jessica) Tewell,  Chad (Haley) Tewell, Jordan Tewell as well as 9 great grandchildren; and sister Lucy James.

Services will be at Greiner Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 1:00p.m. with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Bernie Jackson will be presiding. The visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.
