Bessie Louise (Lawrence) Grise

Bessie Louise Grise, 67, passed away November 27, 2019 in Union Hospital.  She was born September 5, 1952 in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Gerald Lawrence and Delores Dillingham Lawrence.  Bessie was  a second mother to many.  She loved the outdoors, especially camping.  She loved  the holidays, she always prepared a large spread of food for everyone to enjoy.  She was a fantastic cook, everyone would always look forward to family reunions because they knew Bessie would be making her potato salad.  She was very crafty, and she made beautiful floral arrangements.  She really enjoyed tending bar at Sam’s Place. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Lawrence, a brother, Jerry Lawrence Jr., sister, Martha Lawrence and brother in laws, Bill Sink and James Smith, and a nephew, Jared Lawrence.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Grise (Tara), Warne Grise, daughter, Jackie Grise, brothers, Jim Lawrence (Kim), C.B. Lawrence (Kim), Rick Lawrence, and Bradley Lawrence (Amber), sisters, Jeannie Sink, Lena Mundell (Larry), Ruby Smith, Kathy Kelley (John) and Sherrie Bradburn (Ted) grandchildren, Scott Bailey, Harley Ringeo, Todd Ringeo, Austin Smith, Subrina Smith, Kaylee Grise, Breanna Grise, Jaycee Grise, and Ashley Dickens, along with 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services for Bessie will be Thursday December 5, 2019 in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804 at 1 pm. Visitation will be from 12 pm until service time at the funeral home on Thursday.  Pastor Ted Bradburn will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
