Betty E. Pigg Young Edmonson danced her way thru the Gates of Heaven on October 27, 2019 in Union Hospital. She was born March 23, 1927 in Terre Haute to Denman and Anna Vice Pigg and raised eleven children. She was a homemaker, volunteered at St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen for many years and was a life member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Eagles. She was preceded in death by her first husband William E. Young and her second husband, Paul Edmonson. She was also preceded in death by children; Vernon E. Young and his wife Gail and Linda Edmonson. She was also preceded by son in-laws Richard Martin, Jim Cagle and Mark Ralston. She is preceded by a sister Joan Childers, sister in law Janet Pigg and by brothers, Donald “Donnie” Pigg and Larry Pigg. She was also preceded by grandchildren; Rachael Young and Ruth Young and great great grandchildren; Lily Petrowski and Jackson Phillips. She is survived by children; Judy Cagle, Sharon Jensen (Duane), Michael Young (Susan), Marilyn Petrowski (Jim), Paula Ralston, Ricky Edmonson (Bertha), Timothy Edmonson (Sharon), David Edmonson and Randy Edmonson. Betty also helped care for her grand children TJ and Delarma Edmonson and Jason Johnson throughout her life. She is survived by sisters; Trina Huey and Nancy Holton and brothers; Bob Pigg (Doris), Jackie Pigg (Myrna), Denny Pigg (Kathy) . She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren and her special dance partner and true friend, Frank Mershon who made her last years beautiful on this earth. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched. Services are Wednesday October 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Dennis Leek will be officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family suggests that contributions be made in lieu of flowers to ST.
