Charles Edward Malone "Bugsy", 70, of Terre Haute, passed away August 11, 2019 in his home surrounded by his wife and loved ones. He was born January 5, 1949 to Theodore and Wilma Malone. He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps. He was a pipefitter welder for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 157 before retiring at the age of 62. As a fan of baseball he played in the 1961 Little League World Series, he is a true St. Louis Cardinals fan, and he has coached many softball and baseball teams throughout the years. Bugsy never met a stranger and was larger than life. In 1978 he married the love of his life Debbie Malone. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters - Patty Voigt, Barbara Berner, and Mary Carey - his sister-in-laws Tina Morris and Julie Lynch, father-in-law Charles Morris, niece Kelly Hammonds, and grandson Troy Jeffrey. He is survived by his wife, five daughters listed oldest to youngest - Christy Malone (Kirk Bedwell), Lisa Lane (Brent), Jennifer Sanders-Haeseker (Brent), Molly Malone (Rob Cooper), Mandy Malone (Steven Hejari), 16 grandkids, 7 great grandkids, mother-in-law MaryLou Morris, brother-in-law Charles Morris and David Ford, as well as his nephews Erich Berner, Jay Voigt, Scott and JD McCoskey and Ryan Morris and their families. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 7:00p.m. in Oregon Baptist Church, 11200 South Carlisle Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47802. Pastor Fred Harrison will officiate. Military honors will follow services. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, from 3:00p.m. until service time. In honoring his wishes, cremation will be scheduled after services. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Brucken, the Regional Hospital staff, and VNA Hospice for their loving care and support. Care and arrangements have been entrusted Greiner Funeral Home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
