Charlotte A Yates

Charlotte Anne Chisler (Sears Shattuck) Yates, 85, passed on May 17, 2018 at Signature Health Nursing Care Facility. She had a prolonged illness that would not heal. She was born November 10, 1932 to parents: John Earnest and Charlotte Belle Chisler. Charlotte Anne was preceded in death by her parents, and her three children, Norman Eugene Sears, Brian Thomas Sears, and Teresa Jane Sears, two Great-Great Grandchildren, Isaiah and Isaac; plus, one step child, Debra Yates Wardlow.  She is survived by one sibling, Wilma Ruth Vicars Sadowski in Bothell, WA. 

She is also survived by her children Sheila Oliver, John Sears & wife BaLe (of OK), Pamela Long (of TN), Duane Sears & wife Linda; step children Cindy Shattuck Cooper, Bill & wife Traci Yates, Barb Yates Robbins; and numerous Grandchildren, Great, and Great-Great (64 + surviving Grand-babes); nieces; nephews; and cousins. Charlotte worked and retired from Indiana State University. She was a member of the Maple United Methodist Church of Terre Haute. She was also an active member of American Legion, VFW and Moose. In addition, she had been a member of Eagles. Her hobbies were line-dancing with the Wabash Senior Golden Steppers going to many nursing home and retirement centers to entertain; collecting covered bridges; watching hummingbirds; traveling; attending favorite events such as Little Italy Festival in Clinton, IN; Covered Bridges Festival in Parke County, IN, Grand Ole Opry in TN, Dollywood in TN, Indian Dances, county fairs, and going to parks with family members. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.  Pastor David Rockhill will officiate.  Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.
