Danny “Dano” Strain, 55, a Prairie Creek passed away March 27, 2018, after fighting a 10 year battle with cancer, in St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis surrounded by his family. He was born to Loren “Gene” and Patsy Hinton Strain. He was preceded in death by both parents, his special brother Jeffrey Strain. He survived by his wife, Marjorie Rener Strain, daughter Susan Shell (Josh), three grandchildren; Liam, Emma, Livia, sisters; Debbie Pierce (Jack), Cindy Hodges (Gil), brother, Scott Strain (Connie), a bonding brother-in-law, “brother” Jack Pierce, a special buddy, Don Deal (Julia), his furry friend Buster Brown Strain, and pet frogs. Danny was a fighter, and never gave up even in the end. He was going to be a “new man” and he got his wish. Danny loved above all his wife of 25 years, daughter and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, the second love was his Jeep, mudding in letting the dirt fly. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and football. He was anybody’s and everybody’s friend. Special niece’s and nephew’s ,which he also considered his own, Jacqie Hollifield (Gene), Brent, Lea, James McClung (Tabatha), McKenzie, Dalton, Samantha Tryon (Dusty), Gavyn, Landyn, Jeffrey Strain Jr., Jeffrey III, Klara, Scotty Strain (Jess), Kylie, Hunter, Macy, Jake Strain (Jess), Easton, Savana, Rheana Strain, Luke Hodges. Danny has taken a piece of each of everyone’s heart with numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles miss him already.
Memorial Services for Danny will be April 2, 2018 in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804, at 4 pm. A visitation will be from 2 pm until service time at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.grienerfuneralhome.com
