Dylan James Kirk, 27, passed away peacefully from heart disease on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, He was born Feb. 8, 1991, in Terre Haute to William 'Bill' Michael Kirk and Jennifer Rene` (Wilson) Kirk. He was a songwriter and musician proficient on several instruments.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Kirk; step grandfather, Nick Peters; great-grandmothers, Granny Rogers and Granny Barnes; step great-grandfather, Harrison Barnes; great-grandparents, Arthur and Ethel Wilson, and Bill Bryant; and an aunt, Susan E. Wilson.
Survivors include one son, Oliver James Hudson Kirk; mother, Jennifer Kirk and her companion Brad Sawyers; father and stepmother, Bill and Amanda Kirk; grandparents, Debbie Kirk-Peters, and Dan and Judy Wilson; siblings, Austin M. Kirk, Morgan Smith,William Devan Kirk, Da Kota Miller, Christopher Miller, and Taylor Layton; an aunt, Angel Dean and husband (Jimmy) and their children, Abigail and Emma Lu; uncle, Danny Wilson and wife Peggy; cousins, Anna L. Wilson, Matthew (Matt) Wilson and Lydia Rose Wilson, and Da Kota “Baby D”; and many second cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles; and as he called him Oliver's “brother” and constant companion – his dog, Jesus Todd, dog Alex, and cat, Albert Squish; along with a sisterhood and brotherhood of a multitude friends and musician cohorts.
A celebration of life is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, Ind. A grave side acoustical jam session will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers for those who desire a college scholarship fund for his son, Oliver, has been set up at First Financial Bank.
