Florence Elizabeth Davis, 88, passed away on October 9, 2018 at 3:20 am in the Exception Living Center of Brazil. She was born July 11, 1930 in McKees Rock, Pennsylvania to Walter and Eva Boss Tacker. She retired from Columbia House in 1990 after 33 years as a group leader. She was a godly woman and a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church of Terre Haute. She was an accomplished singer recording 2 cds, she sang with the ladies vocal group, Triad. She also sang in the church choir, and also sang at weddings. She attended Gerstmeyer High School class of 1948, home of the black cats. She was a very giving person, the type of person that would give the shirt off her back. She would give and help without any expectation of a thank you or compensation. She loved her forever friends gang, Hardee’s bunch, Wendy’s crew, and her Fazoli’s friends. She was a huge Pacer and Larry Bird fan, she also was a fan of ISU, IU, and the Colts. She always had a positive attitude. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids very much.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Davis, a daughter, Kathy Ousky, and brothers; Robert Tacker, Herbert Tacker, and William Tacker. She is survived by her daughters; Dianna Whitley (Scott) and Karen Morris (Dennis), grandkids; Bryan, Justin (Sara), Jeremy, Katie, Danielle (Jay), Christopher (Brittney), and Tracy (Jeremy), great grandkids; Alicia, Chase, Jasmine, Heaven, Elizabeth, Jackson, Silas, Eli, Kylie, Madelyn, Keira, and Haley, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services for Florence will be Thursday October 11, 2018 at 12 pm. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 4 pm until 7 pm and on Thursday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Larry Reck will officiate.
