Gary Wayne Holmes

Gary Wayne Holmes, 68, of West Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away September 20, 2018 in Union Hospital.  He was born July 15, 1950 in Terre Haute Indiana to Fredrick Holmes and Helen Dubois Holmes.  Gary attended Sandison Elementary School,  Woodrow Wilson Junior High and graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1968.  He served in the United States Air Force. He loved the Fall Season of the year and was an avid fan of Indiana University Basketball and the Green Bay Packers. He was preceded in death by his parents.   He is survived by his brother Michael Holmes and his wife Sharon of Terre Haute; a sister Mary Ann Boyer of West Terre Haute. He is survived by two nieces; Holly L. Pies and Kerry A. Osborn. He is survived by two great nephews; Gus Osborn and Abe Osborn. He is also survived by a special cousin, Jenny Cheryl Kennedy who was a special friend, always helpful and a wonderful caregiver. He is also survived by a lifetime friend, Bill Walls. Graveside services are Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Prairieton Cemetery with burial to follow. Rev. Scott Johnson will be officiating.
