James Hickman Jr.

James Hickman Jr., 69, of Terre Haute passed away July 1, 2019 in Regional Hospital.  He was born Sept. 18, 1949 in Terre Haute to James Hickman Sr. and Patricia A. McCarthy Hickman. He worked for Peabody Coal and the International Operating Engineers Union Local 841.  In the past he participated in the Masons.  He was also very involved in Terre Haute South Little League; he volunteered as a baseball coach, fundraiser, maintenance man and so much more. He loved to spend time with his grandkids; he was a family man through and through.  He also enjoyed gardening; he grew the best tomatoes and radishes. His friends will remember his great stories he was known for.

J.R. is preceded in by his father. He is survived by his wife, Rita S. Hickman (m. June 1, 1971), his mother, Patricia, sons; Jason Hickman (Abigail Cline) and Jeffery Hickman, daughter Jackie Hickman, a sister, Jeri Harmon (Randy) and grandkids; Jayce, Rosen, Jax, and Jax's mother Amber Easton. 

Services for James will be Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 6 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th Street, Terre Haute, In, 47804. Visitation will be held 4 pm to service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Rev. Larry Spear will officiate. Burial is not scheduled at this time.
