Jerry Wayne Lewis

Jerry Wayne Lewis, 72, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away Friday, July 6, 2018.  He was born August 4, 1945 to Price Lewis and Helen (Vencel) Lewis. While driving home from a car show in Auburn, Indiana on June 30, 2018, he went into cardiac arrest. Jerry made his living selling cars in his own business, Jerry Lewis Motors. In previous years, he sold cars at Adams Pontiac and Buck-Rhodes Ford. He graduated from Schulte High School in 1963 and then served in the Indiana Air National Guard from 1965-1971. Jerry loved his wife, Linda and his family with all of his heart and was an intricate part their lives. Jerry was extremely outgoing, never met a stranger, loved to laugh, and was always able to make others smile. He was the life of the party. He had a lifetime love and appreciation for cars, and enjoyed street rods and classics. He owned many cars over the years and enjoyed participating in car shows and events. He loved taking his grandsons and other family members to the shows. Jerry is survived by his wife Linda Lewis, daughter Abra Lewis (Travis Auterson); step son Tom Blitz (Michelle); grandchildren Trey and Trevor Lewis, Erin West (Jesse), and Makenzie Blitz; great grandchild Micah West; siblings Danny Lewis (Ms. Bobbie Wilson) and Debbie Miller (Ed); and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time. In honoring Jerry's love for cars and car shows, the north parking lot of the funeral home, will be reserved for family and friends to showcase their classic vehicles during visitation times.
