John Jay Adams

On August 16th, 1962, John Jay Adams was born to John and Carolyn Adams in Terre Haute, Indiana. John passed away, September 11, 2019 at home. John grew up in Marshall, Illinois. He excelled at football and track and field. John appreciated all those who opened their homes to him while he was growing up. After graduating from Indiana State University, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona. He worked maintenance jobs where he met and fell in love with Cindy Lou Nuniviller. They later married and raised four children together. After returning to Terre Haute in 1995, John worked for over 15 years as a Draftsman at Interstate Welding. John was active in supporting his children's athletic endeavors. He loved watching football, especially Chicago Bears. He loved spending time with his dogs, Zeus and Atlas. John liked to fix things. He and Cindy enjoyed hanging out and having fun with friends. One of John's favorite things to do was make people laugh. John was preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his loving wife Cindy, Children - Marie (Austin) Dewey, Jonathan Hirtzer, Makala Adams, Phoenix Adams, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 5 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life and Luncheon will be held Saturday, September 21, from 11am-1pm. It will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1845 N 6 1/2 Street, Terre Haute, IN.
