John Thomas Sebastian Sr.

John Thomas Sebastian Sr., 78, of Terre Haute passed away June 15, 2018 in his home at 6:38 am. He was born December 23, 1939 to Mr. Sebastian and Mable Sebastian in Terre Haute.  He was a retired Union Iron Worker out of the Local 439.  He was a member of the Indiana Free Mason’s and of the Scottish Rite.  He was very proud of his work with the Ironworkers’ after 40 plus years.  John loved to spend time with his grandkids.  He enjoyed yard work, fishing, and just being outside.  He would sit on the porch for hours enjoying the fresh air.  John was a busy body, and constantly was tinkering around the house.

John is survived by his son, John Sebastian Jr. (Sherry VanSlyke), Debra Palmer (Charlie), grandchildren; Christina Reedy (Frank), John Sebastian III, and Cherrish Sebastian, great grandchildren, Nathaniel Reedy, ShyAn Reedy, and Trenton Goda, and a nephew, Walter Sebastian.

He is preceded in death by his parents, former wife and love of his life, Roberta Sebastian, a brother, Walter Sebastian, and a sister, Barbara Seifers.

Funeral services for John will be Friday June 22, 2018 at 11 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be Thursday June 21, 2018 from 4 pm until 7 pm in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Mark Stahm will officiate.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for future expenses.
