Joseph Edward Atelski

Joseph Edward Atelski, 52, of Terre Haute, passed away January 1, 2019 in his residence. Joe was born September 1, 1966 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Terre Haute to Andrew T. Atelski and Gwendolyn A. Andrews Atelski. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and was retired as a carpenter and roofing contractor. He had formerly worked for the city of Terre Haute at Highland Lawn and Woodlawn cemetery as well at Terre Haute Regional Airport. He was an avid NASCAR and Indianapolis 500 fan and enjoyed basketball and was known for being a wisecracker. Most importantly he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Patrick Atelski, Michael Atelski and a sister Kathleen Atelski. He is survived by his brother Andrew  “Tom” Atelski of Terre Haute and a sister, Brenda Williams and her husband Steve also of Terre Haute. He is survived by a niece, Megan Williams and a nephew, Andy Williams, both of Terre Haute. He is survived by an uncle, John Atelski as well as several cousins. Memorial Services will be held Saturday January 5, 2019 at 11:00 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until Service time at the Funeral Home. Friar Savio Manavalan will be officiating.
