Joyce Marie Owens-Morgan

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Marie Owens-Morgan at the age of 74. She went home to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Joyce was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on April 25, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Jessie Greer.

Joyce was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and held many different jobs throughout her lifetime. She was very devoted to her family and spent her life raising her children and grandchildren. Joyce loved listening blues music, hosting Sunday dinners and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful cook. Most days she could be found at home rocking in her chair and sipping on a beverage.  

Joyce is survived by her former husband Eddie Junie Morgan, whom she lived with and shared her life. Joyce will always be lovingly remembered by her six children: Wesley (Malissa) Owens, Kevin Owens, Dawn Owens, Teresa Owens, April Owens, and Christopher Owens, all of Terre Haute, IN. She also leaves behind; brothers Joseph Bronaugh and Harry Gordon Jr., sisters Peggy Bronaugh, Laura Bronaugh and Lynn Bronaugh, her first husband William Owens, 27 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Jessie Greer, her brother Marcellus (Junie) Bronaugh, and her grandson Leylahnd Owens.

At the end of her life Joyce was lovingly cared for by the wonderful nurses at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Temple Church on May 18, 2019 at 1 pm, with Pastor Lance Byrd officiating. Dinner will be served at the church, immediately following the service.
