Kenneth Richard Dierdorf

Kenneth Richard Dierdorf, 68, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday August 22, 2018 in his residence after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Ken was born November 15, 1949 in Terre Haute to Herbert Richard “Dick” Dierdorf and Rosemary Cox Dierdorf. Ken was a veteran of the US Army as well as the US Air Force and was retired as an Engineer at Fort Campbell after 27 years of service. He was a decorated war veteran receiving the Bronze Star.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in-law Glenn Cottrell, a nephew Kevin Dierdorf, Jr., and special Aunt Jo Ann Delong and several Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his wife Kim Barrett Dierdorf of Terre Haute and her children; Jennifer, Joey and grandchildren. He is survived by brothers; Darrell Dierdorf and Kevin Dierdorf and his wife Sherry. He is survived by sisters; Diantha Sue Boyd, Elizabeth Cottrell, Sherry Forrester and her companion Willie Eggers and Julie Hutchinson and her husband Leonard. He is survived by a special aunt, Ozella Sweat as well as several nieces, nephews and family and friends that he loved dearly. Services will be Tuesday August 28, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Woodason will be officiating. Veterans of Foreign War Post #972 will conduct military honors. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to The ALS Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
