Larky "Dennis" Reed

Larky Dennis Reed “Dennis”, 72, of Terre Haute, Indiana, went to meet his Lord, March 31, 2018.  He was born December 5, 1945 in Clinton, Indiana to Larky Reed and Gloria Mack. He served in the United States Navy.  He loved his country.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  It was more than obvious how much he loved God’s creations.  He gave his heart to his Lord on August 19, 1985.  Dennis had a God given talent to photography.  He had a passion for taking pictures of God’s creations, expressing his love for nature. Dennis was a member of Cross Tabernacle Church.  He worked for Stran-Steel, Cintas, and later retired from Indiana State University.    Dennis was a loving husband.  He leaves behind his wife of almost 42 years, Violet (Adams) Reed; children Michael Reed, Amber (Jason) Casey, Denise (Bud) Goebel, David Whippo, and Daniel Whippo; grandchildren Kayla, William, Addyson, Jameson, Ashley, Amanda, and Michael; great grandchildren Makayla, Daniel, Logan, and Liam on the way; sisters Pamela Bealmear and Ginger (John) Elmore; brother Robert (Lisa) Reed; stepmother Marcella Reed; dog and cat Daisy May and Maxwell; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Dennis went to Heaven to join his parents; sister Sandra Bealmear, and brother Steven Reed.  Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2:00p.m. at Cross Tabernacle Church, 2929 N 7th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Pastor Keith Taylor will officiate.  Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, from 12:00p.m. until service time.  Care and arrangements have been entrusted by Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.  When we reach the end of our earthly journey, we will have just begun.  My home is in Heaven, I am just traveling in this world.
