Leslie Coleman Obituary

We are so sad to announce the untimely death of Leslie Christine Owen. At 1:24 PM in Union Hospital, in Terre Haute, Indiana Leslie passed away from what is predicted as fungal infection and possibly lung cancer (waiting for autopsy results) and was graduated from this life into life eternal with Jesus Christ her savior. Born December 1, 19666 to Leslie M. Owen (deceased) and Roberta K. Owen (deceased) she lived her life with many great accomplishments. She was a cheerleader for youth football during her early childhood days and became pretty good baton twirler (age 4-6). During her middle school years at Bridgeton, Leslie thrived in academics which in high school, graduating second in her class. During her young adult years Leslie went to Ivy Tech with designs on becoming an X-Ray Technician. After two years of school, Leslie had to drop out because, as she often said, her greatest accomplishments was becoming a mother. Survived by her two lovely children, Austin Ricketts age 20 of Rockville, Ind. and Mikayla Ricketts age 17 of Rockville, Ind. Her estranged husband Bobby Ricketts age 57 of Rockville Ind.. Leslie was the sister to Kenneth (Dean) Jones age 57 from Elwood Indiana and Alan (Gene) Jones 55 from parts unknown. Leslie has 3 nieces. Jennifer Cook from Kokomo, Indiana, Sara York from Elwood Indiana, Deann Roesner from Covington, Indiana. She had numerous relatives such as: the Owen, the Crague, the Johnson, the Grigsby and Cummings families. Leslie was a true friend to all who knew her. A testament to her life was her uncanny ability to forge lifetime friendships, many who are still ongoing today that were formed in middle school. Leslie loved life and the love of her life was to her espoused Paul Fortner of Clinton, Indiana age 60. As we have already seen, there are many things Leslie could teach us with her life. She was an survivor, witty, intellectual, overcomer, practical, tactful, direct, stubborn, encouragement, hard worker, poet, and above all else Leslie Christine Owen believed in going beyond the limits
