Lester Wayne Cunningham

Lester Wayne Cunningham, 58, of Terre Haute, Indiana, was born February 13, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan.  Lester was called home November 24, 2019, to join his mother Maude Marie Lewis, and his father Johnny Lewis, and members of the Band of Angels.  He is survived by his partner of eight years Lesley Stanley, her daughter Olivia Daugherty, and a very special grandson Keegan Bullock (he was Paw Paws buddy); sons Jason Cunningham, Nathan Cunningham, Travis Doss (Tara), and Derek Doss; daughters Kelly Lowery (Joseph), and Kimberly Waggoner (Bill); brothers Mark Prattand and Larry Cunningham; sisters Theresa Parksey (Clayton), Paula Horner (Stan); 10 grandchildren; one great grandson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Lester was a 2016 Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame inductee.  He played locally in the Terre Haute area for over 30 years.  Playing with bands such as Jackie Lynn and the Heartland Express, Touch of Class, Austin Brothers, and many others.  Lester also played in Nashville opening for several recording artists.  The family would like to give a big thank you to Angie from Hospice of the Wabash Valley, for her patience, kindness, and guidance thru this journey in our lives.  Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 29, 2019, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.  In honoring Lester’s wishes, cremation has been chosen, and will be scheduled after services.
