Mark Quick Obituary


Mark E. Quick, 54, currently residing in Vigo County, and formerly of Hymera, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Sept. 20, 1963, in Vigo County, to James E. Quick and Marjorie Swalls Quick. He married Melodie May Quick, also from Hymera, on Sept. 8, 1984. He was a very devoted and loving husband for 33 years.
Mark was raised in Emmanuel Apostolic Church, Hymera. He was a current faithful member of New Life Fellowship, where he had formerly served as youth pastor, board member, and adviser for the building projects.
Mark was self employed as a general contractor, enjoyed working with his hands, and was a meticulous carpenter. He enjoyed golf, cardinals baseball, American history and the outdoors.
He was patient, kind, forgiving, loving, and a great listener. He was known as "Uncle Mark" to many and chose the better things in life to form close relationships with others..
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Quick.
Survivors include his wife, Melodie May Quick; his parents, the Rev. James E. Quick and Marjorie Swalls Quick; a brother, Jerry Quick and his wife Connie of Farmersburg; a sister, Kimberly Morrison and her husband Shane of Farmersburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia Quick of Farmersburg, Angela Vickie Gallagher and husband Mike of Linton, Carmen Lang and husband Mike of Hymera, and Rhonda (Kip) Maxwell and husband Mike of Terre Haute; and by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephew.
Services are scheduled as follows: visitation is Friday July 6, 2018, 4 to 8 p.m. at Emmanuel Apostolic Church, 202 Main Street, Hymera; Saturday, July 7, 2018, visitation at New Life Fellowship, 7849 Wabash Ave., from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with service to begin at 2 p.m. Pastor Jeffrey Harpole will be officiating. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Farmersburg. Flowers are appreciated. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, were entrusted with the arrangements.
