Patricia Andrews Townsend

Patricia Andrews Townsend, 81, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away peacefully at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus. Known to those who loved her as Patt, she was born October 14, 1937 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to William Ivan Andrews and Beatrice Elizabeth Smith.

She graduated from Ripley High School in 1955 and attended Lambeth College in Jackson, Tennessee. Patt had several fun and rewarding jobs in her life including being a booking agent for rock and roll bands and “House Mom” for a college fraternity. After retirement, she volunteered at Fuqua  Elementary School as a classroom helper, where she was known as Grandma Patt.

Patt loved Southern cooking, English bulldogs, loud rock and roll music, the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Andrews Townsend; her sister and brother-in law, Gloria Andrews Lewis and Devon Lewis; and her 

niece, Claudia Andrews. She is survived by her son and his wife, Brett and Pam Townsend; her daughter and her husband, Shawn Townsend and Majed Hobbi; two grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew Townsend and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, with Pastor Dustin Spitler officiating. Visitation is 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday with burial following at Highland Lawn Cemetery. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
