Robert Eugene Brown, Sr., 90, a lifetime resident of Terre Haute, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.

Bob enjoyed a deep love of family. Thriving on lively discussion, family conversations remained a highlight, especially with Percy, the family pug, at his feet. Nurtured by the Terre Haute Boys Club, Bob had become a Golden Gloves champion and sportsmanship award winner, resulting in a lifelong interest in sports, especially boxing and basketball. Yet he was truly joyful when solving a problem orcompleting a project involving team effort and a hard day’s work.
A graduate of Gertsmeyer High School, he retired from Visqueen after 25 years and then worked for the Vigo County School Corporation Maintenance Department for 15 years.
He was a member of Cross Lane Community Church.
