Susan Marie Gregory Peters

Susan Marie Gregory Peters passed away September 26, 2019 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 8, 1951 in Clinton, Indiana to loving parents Mary Ann Ballock Gregory and Conrad D. Gregory.

Those who will cherish her memory forever: Steve Peters, husband; Jennifer Peters Walker, daughter; Jill and Bill Ballock, aunt and uncle. Also nieces and nephew: Heather Gregory Brougham, Trey (Conrad III) Gregory, Leslie Hendrickson and Christy Godfrey. Susan was a great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Conrad D. Gregory II and infant granddaughter Gianna Marie Walker.

Susan was raised in Clinton until the family moved to Terre Haute in the late 1950s. She and her dear brother both graduated from Schulte High School. Susan had various careers as a hairdresser, jewelry salesperson and assistant at Vigo County Head Start. She was well known for her sharp sense of humor, her spot-on impersonations and her terrific cooking. She always knew answers to obscure “Jeopardy” questions. Susan cared passionately about the environment, strengthening gun controls and helping abandoned animals. She volunteered at soup kitchens for the homeless.

The family thanks Tracy Hoopingarner and her staff Shelby and Jennifer for the kind, sensitive and professional caregiving they gave to Susan during the last months of her life.

Susan will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Grenier Funeral Home
