Wendell Elsworth Colglazier, 89, returned to his heavenly home after a valiant battle on June 28, 2018 with a long illness. Beloved and chosen by God as an instrument of His abundant grace to all who call on the Name of Jesus, Wendell was refined by the Spirit and made holy, a man of God who taught others to love the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love others, to love creation and the beauty in everything. Born to Jesse and Helen Colglazier Sept 11, 1928, he is survived by his wife F. Lorraine, and children Wendy Beeler, Julie Jernigan, Charlene Stephens, Laura Kim Compton, Tony Bosstick, Niki Laviolette, Vicki Myers, a brother, Nelson Colglazier, 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sons; Brian Lee and Mark Allen Colglazier. Wendell formerly taught at Honey Creek, Woodrow Wilson, and Glenn schools in Vigo County. Wendell served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He also worked for Pfizer for 10 years, and was a former part-time minister for Liberty Church of Christ.
Graveside services for Wendell are scheduled for Monday, July 2, 2018 at 1 pm in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery Chapel. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804 was entrusted with arrangements. Pastor Matt Larimer will officiate.
