William "Mike" Michael Byers

William Michael Byers “Mike”, 59, got his angel wings November 25, 2017 in St. Vincent Hospital with his family by his side.  He was born November 2, 1958 to William Byers and Loretta Wandalene (Hutson) Byers at Union Hospital. Micheal worked as a cook in High School at IHOP, and went on to cook at Rose Hulman for a number of years.  He also was a truck driver for the County Highway Department.  Michael graduated from Terre Haute North High School in 1978.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, enjoyed watching wrestling, motor cross, heavy metal music, and being with friends.  Michael is survived by his father William Byers; sister Lisa A. Gilman and brother-in-law Monty Gilman of Clinton, Indiana; niece and nephew Brittney Gilman (Dylan), Jacob Gilman of Indianapolis; aunts Judy Shelton, Mary Busick (Don) of Plainfield, Indiana, Gwendolyn Hutson of Louisiana; uncle Richard Byers of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother; uncles Gerald Hutson and James Shelton ; grandparents Richard and Anna Moy, Elbert and Mary Hutson.  Per Michael’s wishes, Greiner Funeral Home has been entrusted with care and arrangements.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vincent House.  They are currently needing paper towels and hand soap.
