William "Schatzy" Schatz Obituary

William Eugene “Schatzy” Schatz, 63, passed away October 25, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Leonard Schatz and Ira Danita (Alston) Schatz on July 20, 1955. Bill was an avid sports fan, if there was a ball involved, he was into it. He loved high school basketball, the Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers, but more than anything Bill loved golf. He could often be found hitting golf balls at Rea Park. Bill had a big heart, he was a friend to everyone and always thinking of the less fortunate. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children Aileah Schatz (Melissa Willard), Evan Schatz, Denetta Schatz; Siblings LeRoy Schatz, George Schatz, Russell (Angela) Schatz, Alice Schatz, Wanda Schatz, Linda Schatz, Ginny Schatz (Jeff Thompson), Debbie Bryant; Nephews and nieces David (Lynn) Utterback, Mark (Jerri) Utterback, Josh Schatz, Amber Kelm, Samantha Schatz; his best friends Walt Sebastian and Steve Nasser, his special lady friend Teresa Shotts and countless other friends. There will be a celebration of life on November 4, 2018 at the Vigo County fairgrounds from 2 to 5. In lieu of flowers we ask you do an act of kindness for someone, as he would so often do.
