With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful and fierce mother, Ann Mundell, who left this world far too soon surrounded by the love she so generously gave throughout her life.
Ann was a woman of extraordinary strength, compassion, and dedication. Her love for life was contagious. Whether she was enjoying live music, which brought her immense joy, or capturing memories with her famous "Ann face" and countless selfies, she lived every moment fully. She was always up for a festival, yard sale, shopping trip, and especially the Covered Bridge Festival. She was a strong believer that Diet Coke cured everything. She never missed a softball game for her granddaughter and made sure she got a hot fresh cheeseburger from the concession stand. One of her greatest joys was planning last-minute adventures with her kids; she just loved being involved in their lives and creating memories together. She also had a passion for making cookies, cupcakes and "sweet treats," spreading happiness through her delicious creations. To know her was to love her.
Her passion extended to her work at Lost Creek Elementary and Terre Haute South High School, where she loved the opportunity to make an impact on the students' lives. Over the last 5 years, as a professional nanny, she devoted her career to helping children better their lives, guiding them with gentle wisdom and unwavering care. To the families she worked with, she was more than a nanny; she was a second mother, a confidante, and a cherished member of their lives. She lovingly referred to these families as her "bonus children," embracing them with the same warmth and love she gave her own family.
Her true pride and joy, however, was her family.
She is survived by her three children, Shelby Arroyo (Chayo), Tayler White, Jason Mundell (Emily Perelle) and her adored granddaughter, Adalyn. She also had her four cherished grand dogs, Milo, Simba, Ash, and Takeoff. In addition, she leaves behind her loving mother Patricia, two sisters, Amber and Randi, four nieces, Jordyn, Sydnee, Makayla, and Brenlee, three nephews, Mitchell, Jonathan, and Jackson, and many loving friends who cared about her deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, William Jackson.
Ann lived her life with grace, strength, and a fierce determination that inspired all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed, but we find comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in every life she brightened and every photo she captured.
Honoring her wishes, she was peacefully cremated. A memorial service to celebrate her beautiful life will be held on September 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Online condolences will be made at www.greinerfuneralhome.com
