Barbara Mason Obituary

Barbara Christine Mason, 80, of Terre Haute IN passed away at Westminster Village in Terre Haute on
May 2, 2024.
She was born in Paris, IL on June 6, 1943, the daughter of the late LeRoy “Peck” Switzer and Goldie
Isabel (Good) (Switzer) Garrison. She married Charles R. (Charlie) Mason on January 23, 1960. He
preceded her in death on November 23, 2022. Charlie was the love of her life, and they shared 62
wonderful years of marriage.
Survivors include three sons, Rick Mason, Mike (Kathy) Mason and Greg Mason, all of Terre Haute IN;
one sister, Penny (Archie) Gosnell of Paris IL; three grandchildren, Matthew Mason, Jamie Henderson
and David Mason; five great grandchildren, Lucas, Jasmine, Brenden, Jillian and Jeremiah. She was
preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Virgil Switzer, David Switzer and Georgie Lee Switzer
and a granddaughter, Christa Mason.
Christine was a member of the Southside Church of Christ. She loved cooking and served as head cook at
Camp Wabashi for many years. She loved being around the kids during those summer camp events and
baking special treats for them. She also served as a camp counselor. She will be remembered as being
devoted to her family and loved spending time with family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Southside Church of Christ,
4117 S. 7 th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Pastor
Kenny Grubb will be officiating.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Wabashi, 3525 E.
