Barbara (Bain) Scheid

Barbara J. Scheid, 87, passed away October 6, 2021 in Copper Trace Family-first Senior Living in Westfield, Indiana.  She was born September 6, 1934 in St. Bernice, Indiana to George Bain Sr. and Vivian Nelgen Bain.  She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed painting and collecting miniatures especially doll houses.  Barbara worked in various retail and bookkeeping positions.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Scheid who passed September 18, 2018, they were married on June 4, 1960 and enjoyed 58 years together, and siblings; Carl Bain, Donald Bain, Helen Foxworthy, Dorothy Wadsworth, Rosemary Griffin, George Bain Jr., and Jack Bain.

She is survived by her son, Keith Scheid (Kim) of Indianapolis, daughters; Kimba Ridgway (Darin) of Athens, Ohio, Kristy Nies (Tom) of Lebanon, Indiana, and Karol Tierney (Jim) of Carmel, Indiana, grandchildren, Samantha Ridgway, Morgan Clarkson (Taylor), Taylor Scheid (Larz), Zach Nies, Dylan Scheid, Mitchell Tierney, Nick Nies, and Megan Tierney, and great grandchild Peyton Clarkson along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services for Barbara will be Saturday October 9, 2021 in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804 at 12 pm.  Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Donna Glazier will be officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  The family would like to thank all the caregivers who helped Barbara throughout the years. The family has asked that masks be worn for visitation and service.  Donations can be made in honor of Barbara to the Alzheimer’s Association.
