Betty Ann Campbell, 86, of Terre Haute, passed away November 24, 2022 in her residence surrounded by her family. Betty Was born December 27, 1935 to Charles and Mackie Lee Brown in Greencastle Ind. Betty attended Ridpath Elementary School, Greencastle High School and attended Indiana State University, Betty had dreams of being a teacher. Betty enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends. Betty attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Greencastle as a young girl. To most Betty was known as Granny or Mother Campbell. Betty worked for Quaker Maid, Columbia Records Tape Plant, Columbia Records Warehouse and Pillsbury. Betty also worked for the family of the late Walter and Katherine Bledsoe for many years. Betty was a mother in the church of Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church of Terre Haute. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of many years. Willie Campbell Jr., grandson Derrick McCormick, her mother and father and eight of her siblings, she was the last of nine children surviving. She leaves to mourn her death seven children. Rodney Brown of Arizona, Beth Reid of Terre Haute IN, Brian (Rose) McCormick of Terre Haute IN., Ronald (Elaine) Campbell of Indianapolis IN., Richard (Denise) Campbell of Baltimore, Maryland, Rhonda DeBow of Indianapolis Ind, and John Campbell of Indianapolis IN. Twelve grandchildren, Michael Jones, Rodney Allen, Miranda Campbell, Alicia Tai McCormick. Jeremy Brown, Roshelle Mankin, Michael DeBow (Scoobi), Amber McCormick, Jacci’ DeBow, Anthony Reid, Frank Ashley and Kris Davis. Several great-grandchildren. But one very close to her heart Kingston Wood. Two daughters she adopted Lisa Rose of Florida, and Oleta Jackson of Terre Haute, IN., and one adopted son Robin McGee of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends . She is also survived by a brother in-law Jerry Norvell a very special friend Diana Bullard and a very special nephew James Walker (Karen).
And thanks being there whenever needed and a special thanks to her caregivers Adriana and Linda. Thank you for all your hard and dedicated work. Services are Saturday December 3, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. noon at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 2415 8th Ave., Terre Haute, IN. 47804. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
