Betty D. Cook

Betty D. Cook, 81, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday June 16, 2020 in Westminster Health and Rehabilitation with her husband by her side. Betty was born June 6, 1939 in Terre Haute to James McGrew and Maude Nail McGrew. Betty was a longtime member of Oregon Baptist Church and formally a longtime member of Eight Avenue Baptist Church. She retired from Indiana State University working mainly at Hulman Center during her time there. She enjoyed going to yard sales and sewing and most importantly loved spoiling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Betty was one of eighteen children and enjoyed big family dinners with all of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in-law Tammy Cook and a daughter Denise Hicks. She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Cook of Terre Haute, three sons; Don Cook and his wife Rhonda of South Carolina, Ron Cook and his wife Debbie of Terre Haute and Barry Cook of Ohio. Two daughters survive, Lisa Riddle and her husband Steve of Rosedale, IN., and Tonya Arthur and her husband Larry of North Terre Haute. She is survived by her sister Mary Ann Freels of Albany, GA and a son in-law Mike Hicks and his wife Carolyn as well as eighteen grandchildren and over 55 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday June 20, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. A gathering of family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Fred Harrison will be officiating.
