Billy Tryon Obituary

Billy Ray Tryon II of Terre Haute, IN. passed on January 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. His devoted and loving mother, Annie, was by his side, holding his hand, when he took his last breath. Also, present was their cousin, Sharon Cooper, whose love and support was a great comfort.

Billy was born on July 27, 1970, to Leota Ann Tryon and Bill Tryon. Sadly, at only 11 months, he became ill with spinal meningitis and spent much of his childhood being treated at Shriners Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Despite numerous health challenges, he graduated from South High School in Terre Haute, IN. in 1990.

Billy enjoyed life to the max! He had myriad interests and hobbies. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls and Elvis. While participating with the Special Olympics, he received several awards and accolades in basketball and bowling. Billy enjoyed nature and was an avid fisherman. He especially enjoyed arts and crafts, and had a unique, creative style. His friends and family treasure his paintings, and other gifts that he so generously shared.

Billy was a lovable individual who loved everyone he met. He had an extraordinary ability to recognize people he had met years ago, and even remembered their names. He brought joy to everyone who knew him and will be missed immeasurably.

Billy is survived by his loving mother, Leota Ann Woolard; sister, Lisa Tryon; aunt, Debbie Beach and her wife, Kim Bowman; uncle Danny Beach; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Majestic North Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice Services.
