Buddy Mourrow Kline passed away April 20, 2021 at his home. He was born in Indianapolis, IN. on March 27, 1930 to Orville Kline and Esther M. Kline (Riley)
Buddy Graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1948 and immediately joined the USAF where he served in Japan and Korea as a radio and radar technician. He was honorably discharged in 1952.
He enrolled in DeVry Technical Institute and graduated in 1954 with a degree in Television and Radio Communications. From there he worked at the TV station in Champayne, IL. Then to WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, IN.
On March 31, 1956 he married Shirley Lowry at the Foursquare Church in Terre Haute, IN. They had one son Randall Alan, born in 1958.
He later to the position of Technical supervisor of Television and Radio at ISU, where he supervised the installation of their TV system on campus. He was there for 13 years, then he resigned and began his evangelistic ministry. He traveled all over the US during those years and made 2 trips to Mexico to minister there. It was during this time that he started a group known throughout the valley as the Apostolic Corallairs. This group was made up of people from 5 different churches in the Wabash Valley area. He took this group of singers and went all the way to Ciadad, Mexico, stopping at Churches along the way, preaching and singing. It amounted to a troop of 5 vehicles in a caravan which he later said laughingly, was “the craziest thing he ever did in his life.”
In 1978 he took the pastorate of Good Tidings Tabernacle in Brazil, IN. where he served for 32 years. During his pastorate there, he started a Christian School known as the School of Good Tidings which he was the Principal of. The school continued until 1990 before closing for the lack of students.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley and his son Randall, 3 grandchildren, Randall II, Leah and Rachel one great grandson, Tucker. Also one step brother, David (Pearl), several nieces and nephews.
He was proceded in death by his parents, and a Step Father, Clifford Winsted, two brothers, Ronnie Winsted and Terrence Winsted.
He was a great loved of music during his lifetime. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s he was part of a “pop” trio known as the “Stardusters” They were quite popular around the area and sang on TV several times. After he became an evangelist, he formed a gospel quartet known as the Gospel Chords. He had a beautiful tenor voice, and in his prime, could reach high C above G! They traveled all over IN, IL, MI and WI. And made 2 long playing albums during his career.
After his retirement from Good Tidings Tabernacle, he spent his time traveling to some of the churches he envangelized in and doing some preaching. He spent much time in reading his Bible and in stidy of the Word.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Tidings Tabernacle, 403 North Hoosier Street, Brazil, IN 47834.
