Candace "Candy" Kay Nasser

 Candace "Candy" Kay Nasser, 63, of Terre Haute, departed this Earth and began her journey to eternal peace with her loving Savior on September 17, 2019, at 8:10 a.m. In her last days she was continuously surrounded by her loving family and friends. Her devoted family was by her side as she passed.
Candy was born February 9, 1956, in Terre Haute, to Helen and Skander Nasser Jr. Candy is well known for sharing her love of food and hospitality with friends and family. She was the proud owner of Candy's Deli on South 7th Street, where she served her extraordinary sandwiches and Middle Eastern dishes in portions that were comparable in size to her super-sized heart. Her restaurant was always filled with good food and good friends. Her generosity knew no end and she never met a stranger.
After leaving the restaurant business, Candy went on to become a part of the Ellis Law Office team. For the last 15 years, Candy served as their receptionist, and serve is exactly what she did. She loved the staff like they were her own family and greeted each client like they were long-lost friends. Clients continue to ask about Candy and always comment about missing her warm and friendly smile.
Candy touched the lives of countless people. Her kind heart, her generosity, her love of being around people, and her desire to please others are all attributes that make Candy so unbelievably special to so many people.
Candy is truly the life of the party and her life here on Earth will be greatly missed.
During her last days, Candy was converted to the Orthodox Church and received her first communion. She was surrounded by close family and friends. This brought her an abundance of peace.
Candy leaves this Earth to join her mother, Helen Nasser; and her father, Skander Nasser Jr., who have gone before her. Candy is survived by her brother, Skander Nasser III and his wife Tracy Hilton Nasser, as well as their children, Megan and Colin, of Zionsville, IN; and her sister, Lori Nasser Hendrix and her husband, Jack Hendrix, of Terre Haute, as well as their daughter Alex Hendrix Hoffman and her husband Will of Princeton, IN. She is survived by her Uncle George Ellis, Aunt Betty Slyby and Aunt Joann Nasser; as well as numerous cousins.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Church, 1900 South 4th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802. Visitation will be at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Father Paul Fuller, Rev. Adn. Elias Corey , and Subdeacon Charles Shahadey Jr.  will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Colin Nasser, Jack Hendrix, James Hendrix, Scott Uhlhorn, Kal Ellis, Michael Ellis, Christian Ellis, Dr. Daniel Tanoos, and Tony K. Nasser, MD. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. George Orthodox Christian Church (1900 S. 4th Street) or Catholic Charities (1801 Poplar Street); envelopes will be available at the church. Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804.
