Candyce Jean (Candy) Kesler, 67, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed on to with the Lord on September 1, 2021, following a brief illness, with her husband, Tom, and her daughter, Jenny, at her bedside. Tom was the love of Candy’s life, and Jenny was her greatest joy and best friend! Candy was born July 20, 1954, in Erie Pennsylvania to James Thomas and Jane (Bearfield) Thomas. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Michael Kesler, and children Jenny Jane Jones (Alonzo), Betty Jo (Taylor) Lyons, Richard Lee Taylor, Rebecca Jean Nelson (Bradley), and RoseAnna Ziegler (Dustin), as well as 8 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her siblings Deborah Anderson (Joseph), Jane Meiners (Gregory), Florence Hutson (Ronald), and Richard Chesterfield (Kathleen). Candy led an exciting life, growing up in both the Terre Haute area as well as Erie, Pennsylvania. She attended West Vigo High School and graduated High School in Erie. She retired from Raytheon Corporation as a Supply Chain Manager, which was her greatest professional accomplishment besides opening up New Beginnings Realty and Property Management with her daughter Jenny. Candy was a member of Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, and was a past Vice President of Terre Haute Newcomers and Friends Club. She loved spending time gathering with and cooking for family and friends and enjoying impromptu jam sessions of gospel and country music. She was a lady who brought joy to the lives of everyone she met, simply by her beaming presence, exuberant personality, and her love for people. You could always count on her greeting you with a hug, a kiss on the cheek, and a “hey sunshine” whenever she saw you. She was a bright ray of sunshine even on the cloudiest days. Visitation will be at Greiner Funeral Home on Sunday, September 12, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life will immediately follow visitation, at Fairbanks Park, Bloomburg pavalion. Family and friends are encouraged and welcome to come and celebrate Candy.
