Carol "O'Donnell" Walker Obituary

Carol Sue “O’Donnell” Walker, 70 of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on June 9th 2021 surrounded by her family. Sue was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on February 26th of 1951 to Kenneth and Betty Jean “Cook” O’Donnell. Sue married James Thomas Walker on August 29th 1967. They were married 53 years.

Sue attended State High Laboratory School and graduated from Indiana State University in 1991 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught school at Vigo County Headstart and worked at Columbia House.

Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved car rides, especially while it was raining and boating trips with her family.  Sue enjoyed nights out to listen to Eddie and the Motivators and dancing the night away. Her and Tom enjoyed many meals at the Coffee Cup Restaurant and visiting with their many friends there. Sue would be thrilled to know that she was able to help someone in need as an organ donor. She was a lifelong member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints were she served in many capacities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Daniel and David O’Donnell and sister Brenda Lue Cash. Grandson Benjamin Galbraith and Layland Martin and nephew Scottie Sears.

She is survived by her husband James Walker and their five children. Lorena and James Galbraith, Christina and Bud Delaney. James (Tommy) and Cindy Walker, Joseph and Teresa Walker, and Jacob Walker. 26 grandchildren, Ashley and Jeff Otte, Carol and Booth Brown, James Galbraith, Thomas Galbraith, Sarah and Ethan Awbrey, Mary and Justin Tidd, Allison Galbraith, Isabella Galbraith, Gracey Galbraith, Zachary and Jennifer Delaney, Gregory Delaney, Meagan VanHorn, Bubby and Kayla Delaney, Ethan Delaney, Kacie Delaney, Riley Delaney, Aiden Delaney, Kenneth and Amanda Walker, Briana Martin, Destiny and Robert Markello, Evan Walker, Kirsten Walker, Jameson Walker, Bordey Walker Emma Walker, and 29 great grandchildren. Her sister Linda Danikow, brother Denis O’Donnell, several nieces and nephews, close friends, and her beloved dog Millie.

Visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1845 North 6 ½  Street, in Terre Haute, Indiana, 47802. On Sunday, June 13th at 4:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be on Monday June 14th at 1:00pm. with visitations from noon to 1:00pm. also at the Church, with Bishop Michael Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Terre Haute, Indiana. Greiner Funeral Home of Terre haute was trusted with arrangements.

In honor of Carol Sue Walker donations can be made to The Foundation of Prader Willi Research.  Sue’s youngest granddaughter Emma suffers from this rare disease and all donations will go directly toward research for treatment.
