Carole Collins Obituary

Carole Ann Collins, 74, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday May 10, 2023 surrounded by her family. Carole was born September 10, 1948 in Terre Haute to John R. Collins and Betty C. Marlette Collins. She was a 1966 graduate of Wiley High School and attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She retired from RH Donnelley in 2003 after 35 years. Carole began her career with RH Donnelley in Terre Haute soon after graduating from high school. She was offered a temporary position to complete a project in Chicago with Donnelley after working in the Terre Haute office for just a few years. After completing her project, she was offered a permanent position in Chicago and worked in upper management most of the rest of her career with Donnelley. She was an avid reader, reading in excess of 240 book in 2022. She loved to knit and enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Memorial United Methodist Yarn Ministry and Mt. Pleasant Yarn Spinners. She was an active member of Weight Watchers and enjoyed the friendships she had with her fellow weight watchers. She enjoyed her home and working in her yard. Most importantly she loved her family, her brothers and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two brothers; John Collins (Vicki) West Terre Haute and David Collins (Jane) of Terre Haute. She is survived by her special lifelong friend Carol Richardson of Terre Haute, who is like a sister to Carole, John and David. She is survived by nieces and nephews. John Collins (Angie), Josh Collins (Randi), Sarah Bailey (fiancé, Clint Jenkins), Jennie Templeton, Alex Speidel, Savannah Englert (fiancé Chris May), Robert Dixon and Andrue Templeton. Great Nieces and Nephews; Blaine and Zane Collins, Lexie (Tanner) Edge, John R. Collins IV, Adeline Speidel, Aden Speidel, Allie Speidel,  Memphis Edge, Mattie Edge, Maxton Jenkins, Sawyer Jenkins and Addie Bailey. She was expecting and great great niece in July and nephew in October. Carole had requested cremation with no service, burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to The American Cancer Society or VNA Hospice. The family would like to thank VNA Hospice Westminster Rehabilitation, Dr. Thomas Schmidt, Dr. Sang Y.
