Catherine "Cassie" Ann Abbinett

Catherine Ann Abbinett "Cassie", 77, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away August 25, 2023.  She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Virgil and Catherine (Trezise) Archer on February 4, 1946.  Cassie worked at Terre Haute Medical Lab for 27 years.  She enjoyed traveling, motorcycle riding, bird watching, and driving her corvette. She enjoyed trips to Vegas and French Lick and she loved going to Florida every year with the “Summer Sisters”. Cassie attended the Indy 500 with close friends for over 20 years. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and always put family first.  Being an only child, she enjoyed family time with cousins and extended family.  Cassie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert "Bob" Abbinett; grandchildren Logan Abbinett (Amber), Jessica Rosane (Truitt), and Garreth Abbinett; cousin Libby Llewellyn; nieces Robin Travioli, Shannon Strain; Nephew Ben Hamblen; and special friends Camilla Correll, Melissa Barker, and Marianne Bayless. Cassie was preceded in death by her parents and her two sons, Christopher Abbinett and Robert Abbinett.  Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, September 1, 2023, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Lee will  officiate.  Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. until service time.  If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.  A private family burial will take place at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
