Charles Henry Myers was born November 16, 1948 in Terre Haute Indiana to George F. Myers and Dorothy E. Schackmann. Henry passed away under VNA Hospice care at home on August 8, 2025 Henry was a star basketball player at Gerstmeyer High School from which he graduated in 1967. He began working at an early age to help support his family, Henry worked at Nassers installing carpet and at Columbia Records. He retired from GE Aviation in January 2012 after 25+ years, Henry enjoyed fishing, yard work, music, playing cards, steak cooked over charcoal and animals, especially the many animals he shared his life with over the years. He was a Green Bay Packer, Indianapolis Colts, IU basketball, and St Louis Cardinals fan. Henry also help dachshunds get to their forever homes as a volunteer driver for Dachshund Underground Railroad. Henry was predeceased by both parents, brothers George and Wayne, and also by his only two children, Melody when she was only 16 and most recently, Mickey (Michael) in 2024. He is survived by the mother of his children, Joyce Rice (John Rice), his brother Keith Myers and family. Henry is also survived by his wife of 30 years Barbara, Barbara's son Donovan Morgan, his son Dylan Morgan, and Dylans daughter Meredith, wife Liz Morgan and her children daughter Lauren Hamblen (companion Jeff) and son Joseph Hamblen. Henry is also survived by Barbara,s daughter Teresa, Marlow, her 3 daughters, and one grandson, and Henry's long time best friends Bob and Vee Edwards,. There will be a Celebration of Life for Henry at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society. The family thanks VNA Hospice for their kindness and care of Henry during his extended illness. We also thank the Union Hospital Wound Care and the valet service for their concern, kindness and consideration.
