Charles and Anna Spitler

 Anna Spitler went home to be with Jesus on January 3rd 2022 followed shortly thereafter by the love of her life Charles "Chuck" Spitler on January 6th 2022. An amazing example of enduring love, they completed life's journey together after 47 years of marriage. Charles was preceded in death by his older siblings, Barbara Morley, Mary Francheschina, and Margaret Shepard. Anna was preceded in death by her siblings, Lois Young, Rita Gormong, John Wright, and Polly Rector. Her surviving siblings are Frieda Tarrh, Clyde Wright, Carol Lee, Raymond Wright, and Don Wright along with their spouses and children. They are also preceded in death by their stillborn daughter, Barbara and daughter Judy Bedford in January of 2021. Surviving family include four daughters, Corina "Tina" Weaver, Melissa Peel along with her husband, Sandra Alkire along with her husband and Freda Bicknell along with her husband. Chuck and Ann were the proud grandparents to Crystal Etue, Kelly McMurray, Logan Frets, Jennifer Marshall, Nikki Marshall, Dexter Marshall, Amy Poirrier, Danny Elkins, Cody Peel, Christopher Spitler, Donovan Alkire, Heather Stultz, Dante Crouse, Elizabeth Shepherd and Lacey Newton. These grandchildren along with their spouses and partners have also blessed Chuck and Ann with 24 great-grandchildren.   Chuck was a devoted husband, excellent provider and the most amazing father and grandfather. He served in the US army and worked as a sheriff's deputy in West Terre Haute before becoming a truck driver for 40 years. He loved NASCAR races, fishing, working on cars and his wife's home cooking. 

 Ann was devoted to caring for her family. On top of raising five girls, keeping a meticulous home, and cooking delicious meals, Ann was a master gardener, she crocheted countless masterpieces throughout her life and was the glue that held her family together. 

Chuck and Ann will be dearly missed but their love for God and each other will live on through us.

Graveside services for both Charles and Anna will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Durham Cemetery, at 1:00 p.m.
