Charlotte Miller Obituary

Charlotte Marie Miller, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023, with family present.  She was born in Terre Haute on November 5, 1927, to James Noah Snow and Goldie (Creal) Snow. She graduated from Garfield High School in 1945 and then worked at Hulman & Co and Simplicity Patterns.  Charlotte married Jack D Miller on June 27, 1948, and their marriage lasted 69 years before his passing on September 2, 2017.

She is survived by son Don (Jayne); daughter Sondra; granddaughter Azure West (Jason); four great-grandchildren, Austin (Olivia), Lundyn, Ripley, and Mira; sisters Catherine Miller and Mary Engberg; and a brother, Charles Snow; many nieces and nephews. All admired and loved her. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother James Robert Snow, son Ronald D Miller, and son-in-law Paul Wright.

In addition to raising her family, she managed several businesses which she and Jack owned and operated: Sycamore Homes Mfg. Co, Superior Fence Company, and Collett Apartments in Terre Haute.  They owned a cabin on a lake where there were many fond memories of family functions and church-friend gatherings.  Her many interests included enjoying her granddaughter and great grandchildren, volunteering for her church, gardening, sewing, and joining in Jack’s car restoration hobby and activities with the Wabash Valley Antique and Classic Car Club. She was a long-time member of the Maplewood Christian Church where she worked in the nursery and helped at the Sunshine Center for many years.  She later joined Staunton Christian Church where Mark Miller (Nephew-Minister) provided support in later years for Charlotte.  Her faith has now been rewarded in heaven.
