Chester and Becky Drada Obituary

Drada, Becky (Marion) passed January 3rd of 2020, during the pandemic. A small
service was held at Mt. Pleasant church, with Pastor Aaron Wheaton, Pastor Dennis
Ticen, and Pastor Rick Swan. She was able to remain in her home with Chester until
her passing. They were married 57 years. Becky was close with friends of Staunton
High School and the telephone operators of GTE, she was a union telephone operator.
Their children are Eric and Angie Drada-Galenski. Becky and Chester were members at
Mt. Pleasant church and loved volunteering, and loved their life-group.

Drada, Chester W., beloved husband of the later Marion Rebecca Drada, loving father
of Eric and Angie Drada-Galenski, fond grandfather of Nathan Drada, Dustin Galenski,
and Kelsy Galenski. Great-grandfather of many. His brother Don (Ann) Drada, and late
sister Jeanne Drada. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Chester was an Army Veteran, 101 st airborne division. He was an avid fisherman, a
retired Union Carpenter of Local 133 (50-year member). We rode around the lake on
the golfcart just to pass time, and dad often made the comment, “how does a Chicago
boy end up in the beautiful countryside, living on a lake.” He passed February 13, 2025
in his home.
There will be a Celebration of Life for both of our parents at the lake. The celebration
will be held on Saturday, May 24th (time pending)
