Danny Joe Helton

Danny Joe Helton, 65, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on September 2, 2023. He was born on October 9, 1957 in Terre Haute to James and Marcella Helton (Siner). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rick Helton. He is survived by his brother, James Helton; sister, Kathy Figg; his children Catie Long (Jason), Casey Helton, and Christina Holtman (Andrew); his grandchildren Lucas and Amelia Helton, Saphira and Shelby Holtman, and Cason Long; his two beloved dogs, Gunner and Smokey; and many special friends.

Danny graduated from Terre Haute South High School in 1976. He was retired from the Laborers Local 204 and Operators Local 841 Unions. He had spent his life using his trades and handy-man skills to help many people.

Danny enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent time around his yard taking care of things including his garden. He was a jack-of-all-trades who knew how to fix and make many things including doing wood-working projects. He spent time with family and friends reminiscing and enjoyed the company of others. His resiliency was admired by many, his determined work ethic unmatched, and his personality one of a kind. Danny has been a giving friend to many in his life and will be greatly missed.
