David Fuller, 79, of Terre Haute passed away on March 4, 2021 in his home in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Dave was born on September 14, 1941, to Edward M. Fuller and Elizabeth (Lee) Fuller. He graduated from Otter Creek High School in 1959 where he played basketball and baseball.
Dave served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Following his military service, Dave went on to complete bachelor's and master's degrees in education at Indiana State University.
He spent his entire career in the Vigo County School Corporation, first as a teacher and then as principal of Fairbanks, Riley, and Terre Town Elementary Schools. He was a member of the Indiana State Principals Association and the Vigo County Retired Teachers Association.
Dave is survived by his wife, Alice (Layne) Fuller, his daughter, Cindy (Fuller) Ayala and her husband, Danny, also of Terre Haute; stepson Greg Walker, his wife Martha, and their daughter, Dave's granddaughter, Abigail Layne Walker, of Louisville, KY; and stepdaughter Amy Walker of Terre Haute. Two sisters-in-law, four nieces, and four nephews also survive. Dave was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Scott Alan Fuller; his sister, Jenny (Fuller) Jerome; his brother George; and his brother, Leonard.
Dave enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, both in Terre Haute and in his winter home near Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. He also enjoyed reading and he always looked forward to going out to breakfast, especially with his principal colleagues and his high school buddies.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
