David R. Pierce Sr., passed away April 30, 2018 in Union Hospital. He was born May 21, 1943 to Ray Pierce and Leora Bonnee Pierce. He graduated from Gerstmeyer Technical High School, Electronics Technical School, and carried an Indiana TV radio technician license for 18 years. David was the owner and operator of R.P. TV sales and Service with his mother and cousin, John Gallion. He was also the owner and operator of Musico, an entertainment company, as well as R.P. Enterprises. He worked for 15 years at Roselawn Memorial Park as a Memorial Counsler, Pre-need sales manager, and Family Service Manager. He also worked as an advertising salesman for Lincoln Trail Publishing for 5 years. He was a past member of the Terre Haute Moose Club, an associate member of the Marine Corp League, and current member of the American Legion 346. David played drums and sang in numerous bands in Terre Haute, and was the original member of the band, The Catalinas. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and painting landscapes in oil, in his spare time. He also loved being outdoors and working in his flower gardens. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of 20 years, a sister, Shirley Sparks and her husband John of Terre Haute, sons; Tony Pierce, Troy Pierce (Valerie) of Brazil, David R. Pierce Jr. of Miami, Florida, grandsons; Nathan McNew of Nashville, TN, Jacob Grimes of Chattanooga, TN, Michael Dowell of White Deer, PA, David James Pierce of Corral Springs, Florida, and Noah Baker of Greencastle, Indiana, granddaughters; Ciara Pierce of Nashville, TN, Brittany Butler-Kull, Tye Lynn of Florida, Rustie Mills of Terre Haute, and Tara Dickerson of Clinton, Indiana, step-daughter, Kelli McCan of Terre Haute, step-son, Chad Dickerson and his wife Cindy of Clinton, step-son, Samuel Compton of Shelbyville, many great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a daughter, Lyrray Lynn Pierce. Services will be Friday May 4, 2018 at 1 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time at the funeral home Friday.
