David Lee Walbring

David Walbring, 74, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on September 11, 2020.  He was born to Marvin and Virginia Walbring on February 1, 1946.  Both have preceded him in death as well as a brother, William.

David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy (Lehe); children Leann (Robert) Gary and Andy (Jodi) Walbring; grandchildren Kali Walbring, Paul (Tari) Gary, David Walbring, and Allyson Gary (Jacob Ewing); two sisters Dina (Daryl) Thornburg, and Mary (Robert) Brannan. 

David worked and made life-long friends at E.H. Bindley and Co., Anaconda (Novelis), Cintas, and Southwest Parke Schools. 

He was an active member of Terre Haute German Oberlandler Club and served as president for a number of years, and loved Oktoberfest. 

David never knew a stranger and always had a smile for everyone he saw.  He especially loved children, his own and his grandchildren, and those he encountered while driving a school bus. 

David and Nancy enjoyed traveling and made a bucket list to visit 50 states, 50 countries, and 5 continents by their fiftieth anniversary.  They were able to complete their goal.  He was always ready for a new adventure. 

David will also be missed by his special companion Bella.

A celebration of his life will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, at 3:00 p.m.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
