Della Mae Short

Della Mae Short, 86, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on January 28, 2025.  She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on October 18, 1938, to Noble Alvis Whitledge and Mary Ida (Hopper) Whitledge.  Della worked as a secretary for many years.  Her most favorite and best job was being a homemaker.  She took pride in her home and in spending time with her family.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, and arranging flowers.  She is survived by her children Cathy Short (Bob), Caren Lidster (Michael), Cheryl Toney (Jay), and James Short Jr. (Jill); grandchildren Lorraine, Lindsay, Gregg, James, Jerry, Cyle, Max, and Cole; several great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.  Della was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Short Sr.; and grandson Ryan Haase.  Burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery.  Services are private. The family would like to thank hospice for the care Della received.
