Delores Ann (Smith) Welch

Dolores Ann Welch, 82, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday December 30, 2020 in her residence. Dolores was born March 3, 1938 in Terre Haute to Leonard Smith and Elizabeth Nagy Smith. She was a member of Barbour Avenue United Methodist Church and was retired from the Vigo County School Corporation working as a cook at Otter Creek Middle School. She was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and enjoyed puzzle books especially word search and picture puzzles. She enjoyed reading her bible, and loved spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Joseph Welch and sisters; Mary Bryan, Patty Large, Margaret Churchill and a brother, Chuck Smith. She is survived by her husband, William J. Welch whom she married April 27, 1957. She is survived by a son, Randy Welch (Denise) of West Terre Haute and three daughters; Brenda Goldner of Terre Haute, Donna Hutson (Randy) of Terre Haute and Linda Hoskins (Keith) of Orleans, IN. She is survived by three brothers; Louis Smith of Denver CO, William Joseph Smith (Carolyn) of Westphalia, IN and Eddie Withers (Pam) of Brazil, IN. She is survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services are Tuesday January 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Barbour Avenue United Methodist Church, 1401 Barbour Ave. Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Pastor Robert Roush will be officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Barbour Avenue Church. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804 was entrusted with arrangements.
