Deric James Cummins Dewey, 25, of Terre Haute, Indiana gained his angel wings, Monday, February 8, 2021 to go home with his loved ones that have gone on before him and he missed very much. Deric was born April 16, 1995 on Easter Sunday to Rosemarie Cummins. He’s proceeded in death by his grandma Marybelle Underwood, Grandpa Carl Pugh and Jim Cummins, great grandma Lena Laycock, his special favorite aunt Frances Doan which they passed away on the same day just 10 years apart, and several other relatives that he loved and missed very much. Deric is survived by his mom Rosemarie Cummins, his best friend and favorite Aunt and Sissy Jamie and favorite Uncle Paul Markle, brother Joshua Dewey, best friend and little brother CJ Philabaum, special cousins David Wilson (Olivia), Loretta Markle, Elizabeth Markle (Billy), two special little cousins Archer and William, and our new baby still baking. His special great aunt Wanda Emory, a special man that has been a dad to him Harry Bracken, his godmother Kimberly Pitts, and several special aunts and uncles, cousins, and lots of friends that love him very much. Deric was a very sweet, loving, kind, amazing young man that has fought till he had no more fight in him. He was a survivor, warrior that believed to never give up no matter how hard or bad his health was. He always had a smile on his face and would joke with everyone, even when he was sick. Deric’s going to be missed by a lot of people. Whenever his Aunt/Sissy Jamie would cry he would tell her, you want me to shove my size 13 up your butt. He loved the New Orleans Saints, Chicago Cubs, listening to ICP and a variety of other music. He loved playing video games with his little brother CJ. He will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery by his grandpa Carl per Deric’s wishes. Services will be Friday, February 12, 2021 at Greiner Funeral Home, at 1:00p.m. Visitation will be from noon until 1:00p.m. If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the family, to help with purchasing a grave marker.
